Welton-le-Wold is a lovely little village nestled in a chalk stream valley in the Lincolnshire Wolds. But the village surroundings aren't just beautiful - signs of its history are captured in the landscape that cradles it. Welton-le-Wold is a Medieval village. Welton is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as consisting of 57 households. Convenient for Louth the gateway to the Wolds and the Art Trail. Nearby is Horncastle a market town which is renowned for its Antique centres. Lincoln and its Cathedral, Castle, Museum and University are thirty minutes drive away. Somersby and Tennyson's origins, Cadwell Park and it's motor racing circuit close by. Ideal low level walking county with outstanding views and access to the Viking Way nearby.
